James River Writers Conference is an annual gathering that usually takes place in Richmond, Virginia, and attracts prize-winning authors and highly regarded editors and literary agents from around the country to share their wisdom about writing and publishing. Since 2003, this multi-day event of 350 to 400 writers, has been known for its inspiring, collegial atmosphere and hospitality. We have made the difficult decision to move this year’s conference online. But, rest assured that we will be including the same elements that have made this conference a successful, sold-out event for the writing community year after year. Look forward to the Agent Dating Game, First Pages, Master Classes, and more! In addition, we will build in opportunities for networking and fun engagement, knowing that community is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re just starting out on your writing journey, or a seasoned professional, there’s something for everyone. We hope you’ll join us online this year!

To apply for a conference scholarship (deadline September 5, 2020), please see this page.
