Thursday Night Writes

Thursday Evenings | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

In-Person, at Unplugged Games Cafe

Join us for this gathering of JRW members and general writing enthusiasts. Find inspiration, accountability, and a sympathetic ear for your writing journey. Bring your preferred writing paraphernalia, grab a drink or a bite, get some words written, and hang out with fellow writers. As this program is run entirely by JRW members/volunteers, we encourage you to jump in and help develop and sustain it!

The schedule is as follows:

EVERY Thursday Evening | IN-PERSON only

Second Thursdays are officially “Pages” nights. Bring your pages to get feedback on your work. Be ready to get AND give feedback with fellow writers!

at the Unplugged Games Cafe – 1300 Sycamore Square, Midlothian, VA 23113

No registration is required for these in-person meetings. Drop in as your schedule permits. Occasionally Thursday Night Writes will be cancelled if a holiday falls on a Thursday (e.g. Thanksgiving) or if it conflicts with another JRW program. 

Who’s Organizing These Meetings?

To start off, the meetings will be led by longtime JRW members (and current Board Members!)  Jean Anderson and Dae Newman. The goal will be to add new leaders to the mix once things are off and running. After attending a few Thursday Night Writes and joining James River Writers, if you are interested in helping out in any way please let them know when you see them in person, or you can email Jean HERE.
