The discussion was hosted by Roben Farzad, host of NPR’s Full Disclosure and regular contributor to MSNBC, NPR, and C-SPAN. Stephanie Toliver
S.R. Toliver is an assistant professor of literacy and secondary humanities at the University of Colorado Boulder. Informed by her love of science fiction and fantasy texts, as well as her experience as a 9th and 10th grade English teacher, Toliver’s scholarship centers the freedom dreams of Black youth and honors the historical legacy that Black imaginations have had and will have on activism and social change.

Nghi Vo was born in central Illinois, and she retains a healthy respect of and love for corn mazes, scarecrows, and fifty-year floods. Join us for the 2021 James River Writers Conference, an annual gathering that attracts prize-winning authors and literary agents from around the country to share their wisdom about writing and publishing.
