James River Writers is excited to offer both in-person and online elements for our conference this year. Join us for Master Classes online, on Friday, October 7. Then, celebrate with us in-person, as we return to the Greater Richmond Convention Center (in Richmond, Virginia) for a full slate of programs focusing on the craft and business of writing. Look forward to lively panel discussions, fun and engaging plenary sessions, and agent one-one-one meetings (standard with your ticket). In addition, we’ve included opportunities for networking and socializing, knowing that community is at the heart of everything we do. New this year – we’ve added private consultation sessions that allow you to get personal feedback on some of the most important elements of your writing career – author websites, query letters, synopses, and first pages. Since 2003, this multi-day event of 350 to 400 writers, has been known for its inspiring, collegial atmosphere and hospitality. Whether you’re just starting out on your writing journey, or a seasoned professional, there’s something for everyone.

Please note that proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to attend the in-person conference. You will be asked to share an image of your vaccination proof during the registration process.

Conference tickets start at $319 for two-day tickets, $175 for one-day tickets, and $125 for student tickets. Online Master Classes are purchased a la carte, starting at $50 each.
