How do you boil a manuscript down to a short synopsis? You’ll learn at the May 31, 2012 Writing Show. Email your synopsis of no more than 1,000 words to [email protected] and let pros critique your synopsis and offer insights that will make your work stand out to agents and editors.

Deadline: Must be received by Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 11:59pm. No fee. Authors remain anonymous. Synopses will be pre-selected to ensure variety and will be critiqued during the May 31st Writing Show. Authors will not be notified if their work has been selected for critique.

Required format: The maximum word count is 1,000 words. Include synopsis as an email attachment with “synopsis critique” in the subject line. Submissions without “synopsis critique” in the subject line will not be opened. Please use Arial or Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, black type. Format: double spaced, 8.5″x11″ with one-inch margins on all sides. Include a cover page with manuscript’s genre and intended audience (for example, Adult, YA, or MG). Author’s name should appear only on the cover sheet and not on the synopsis, itself.
