Writers in the Park
June 1 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Date: Saturday, June 1, 2019
Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Maymont Farm, at the corner of Spottswood Road and Shirley Lane, Richmond, VA, 23220
Price: Free and open to the public
James River Writers invites you to come write with us, taking in the fresh air and beauty of Maymont. No matter who you are, whether you consider yourself a “professional writer” or not, join us for this free, public event including inspiration and writing prompts.
Sometimes, writing is a solitary pursuit, and sometimes, writing is all about finding your community of like-minded wordsmiths. Fall in love with the JRW community as so many writers in Central Virginia have. We’d love for you to join us!
Schedule for the Day (Bring your own chair or blanket for seating)
“The Core of Story” with David L. Robbins
“Writing about Nature” with Hope Whitby
“Transforming Others and Yourself through Writing” with DaNika Robinson
“Writing Prompts and Exercises” with Lana Krumweide
Writer Picnic Meet-ups: Bring your own lunch and join other writers working in the same genre! We’ll have genre-specific meet-ups on nonfiction (including memoir), poetry, mysteries and thrillers, women’s fiction, and fantasy.
The day will also include a chance to spin the Wheel of Prizes for anyone in the park wearing James River Writers apparel (maybe our newest t-shirt?) or making a donation to JRW.
We hope to see you there!
