TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS July 2025 (In Person) Writing Show

Sure, you’re a creative, but that doesn’t mean you should neglect the business side of your writing life. Hear from both a lawyer and an accountant about the often-overlooked aspects of being a successful writer. We’re bringing back this super popular, incredibly informative panel from the conference. With even more time, there will be plenty of opportunities to get all your burning financial and legal questions answered on topics like LLCs, business licenses, protecting your best interests, and more.
The Writing Show includes a social time from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm. This portion of the evening is optional. If you choose to only attend the panel discussion, please arrive in time to find parking and be seated before the panel discussion begins at 6:30 pm.

MODERATOR

KRISTI TUCK AUSTIN helps authors increase their books’ discoverability, build their platforms, and turn new readers into loyal fans. She’s also worked in TV development for Can Do Entertainment and Gum Street Productions. She was a producer on the proof of concept for America’s Next Great Author and is earning a certificate in film and TV development from UCLAx. She served as board chair of James River Writers and conference chair.
