ONLINE MASTER CLASS: Shaping Your Family History Into Compelling Stories

Do you have family stories in your head, a few trinkets you inherited, or a box of old family photographs, letters or family documents with which you always wanted to “do something?” This workshop will explore different approaches to creating compelling stories from family history. We will study how artifacts such as letters and official documents can be used to develop a narrative, discuss different research methods, and look closely at how source material is transformed into a story. We will also practice writing short scenes and examine literary devices and structure to help shape our stories.
Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Eastern
Where: In the comfort of your home, via the Zoom platform
$50 Members; $75 Non-members
Registrants will receive a short reading on Friday, June 21, to review ahead of the master class. If you register after June 21, we will email the reading to you as soon as possible.
Master Class details, including the Zoom link to join, will be sent to registrants in a reminder email prior to the class.
