That means making it super easy for agents, publishers, and editors to find you online and learn about what makes you marketable. We’ll discuss how and when to use branded platform materials, like TIP sheets, PR, and media kits. We’ll even provide a handout of suggested tips and outlines to help you get started, so new writers can build a plan of action beyond mere social media.

Ellen Whitfield is a passionate reader and had more than seven years experience in print media with outlets such as The Dallas Morning News and The Advocate (Baton Rouge and New Orleans) before switching to publicity with JKS Communications. Sarah Lapallo Beck is the owner and Creative Director at Inkwell Book Co., a graphic design company specializing in books. Sarah has been passionate about books for as long as she can remember, finally getting her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. She started Inkwell Book Co. in 2013. Since then, Sarah and her growing team of passionate professionals have worked with publishers and authors nationwide consulting on and designing book covers and interiors. Sarah lives in a Lakeside fixer-upper with her husband, their two sons, and a miniature schnauzer.
