Pencil Aimee Agresti Shows Red Ink Behind Debut Novel

Panelists

Aimee AgrestiAimee Agresti is the author of the young adult novel Illuminate (Harcourt), the first in her Gilded Wings Trilogy. The sequel, Infatuate, will be released in March. Before making the leap to fiction, she spent years chatting up celebs as an entertainment journalist, most recently as a staff writer at Us Weekly, where she also penned the magazine’s coffee table book Inside Hollywood. Her work has appeared in a number of publications including People, The Washington Post and The New York Observer. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband and son.

Meg MedinaMeg Medina has written for adults and children for over fifteen years, and her stories and poems have appeared in numerous literary magazines. Milagros: Girl from Away (Henry Holt) was her first novel for young readers. Meg is also the author of the picture book Tia Isa Wants a Car (Candlewick Press), which earned her the 2012 Ezra Jack Keats New Writers Award, and The Girl Who Could Silence the Wind (Candlewick Press). Her forthcoming Young Adult novel, Finding Yaqui Delgado, is due in 2013, also from Candlewick Press.
