Learn the wild history of the Poe Museum’s Enchanted Garden while exploring the garden concept as both metaphor and model for the creative process. Ekphrasis is an exercise in which the artist relates one medium of art to another medium, defining and describing its essence and transposing its “illuminative liveliness.” Here, along with guided discussion and feedback, we’ll transpose artistic renderings of the Garden back into Poe’s own medium.

A new place to find inspiration this year
We’re bringing back the grand tradition of the literary salon, an intimate setting to meet & fraternize with local authors and artists, as they in turn guide you in your own writing practice. Whatever your genre, this is a great way to connect, to learn, and to philosophize.
Salons are organized by topic and are held on the second Thursday of every other month, February, April, June, August, and October. There is no cover charge for these events.
